We’ve received 6” of new snow in the last 48 hours and are looking at another system moving in tonight. Forecasters are predicting 10-15” overnight! Freezing cold temps this week have also allowed our snowmaking system to work around the clock and we’ll have more terrain to open continuously throughout the week.
First up, Big Easy chair and run: opening Saturday, December 7. This terrain, just beyond Tamarack Lodge, opens up a whole area for beginners to test their skills on the slopes. It is the perfect place to learn new skills and progress to other areas of the mountain. Don’t forget our Ski and Ride School is open and ready to improve your skills on the slopes.
Next, Comet Express and Comet trail: opening Sunday, December 8. This gives skiers and riders more access to intermediate terrain on the Nevada side. Also open is Dipper Express to Orion’s and Big Dipper trails and Tamarack Express to California Trail.
Coming down the pipe, is Ante Up Terrain Park. The Heavenly Terrain Park Crew has started to build the medium size terrain park under Tamarack Express and expect to have it complete mid-week next week. Stay tuned for details.
Looking down the line, we’ve been making snow on Olympic trail down to Stagecoach and are looking to open those areas mid-December. Shortly following Stagecoach will be the California side with Patsys, Powderbowl Express, and Canyon Express.
Keep up those snow dances and we’ll see you on the slopes!
