Daily Snow Report 3/4/12

Good Morning, Skiers and Riders! Thanks to our high elevation and the 3 ½ feet of fresh snow that fell this week, our surface conditions are in fantastic shape! With the opening of Mott Canyon yesterday, we now have something for every level of skier or rider in both states! Check out this video of Ski Patrol prepping Mott for us:

Lifts open at 8:30am.

Today we’ll be operating 28 lifts with access to 80 trails and the most terrain in Tahoe on 3600 open acres! We have a 36”-52 inch base of packed powder and machine-groomed snow. Up at Adventure Peak, the tubing hill has 7 lanes of sliding fun and there’s even sledding for kids 6 and under. Get your jib on in one of our 3 terrain parks, with a total of 62 creative features of all levels. The groomers laid nice thick corduroy on about 60 of our trails and recommend you sample their work on Player’s Run in CA and CA Trail in NV.

As of 6:00 AM, it’s 34 degrees at mid mountain and 33 up top with sunny skies and calm winds. The forecast calls for continued sunny skies, light winds and temps in the mid 40s to mid 50s. Wear light layers, tinted lenses and plenty of sunscreen today! Obstacles do exist off the groomed trails, so please exercise caution and observe all posted signs and closures. Play it safe, play all season!

We’ll have free shuttle busses running between all 4 open base lodges today for your convenience. Kick back at Steins in CA today with some delicious beer and brats, as you soak up the sunshine. And visit Tamarack Lodge from 3:30-4:30 for some half-priced drinks before you head down the Gondola.
