Written Monday, June 15th, 2009 by AimiX

Hey everyone,
Tonight Chevy’s South Lake Tahoe will host a fundraising event for Heavenly Olympic athlete Sho Kashima. Sho grew up here skiing at Heavenly and now is going to be representing our town at the 2010 Olympics in the Freestyle Mogul competition.
Come out to Chevy’s this evening from 5-8pm to show your support for Sho. Chevy’s will donate 25% of all sales to support Sho’s trip.
Sho will be signing posters and there will be a raffle for a ton of prizes.
Hope to see you all there,

Wet Woody Wednesday at the Riva Grill

Written Tuesday, June 2nd, 2009 by AimiX

Don’t miss out on one of the funnest, and most beautiful, drink experiences in Lake Tahoe. The Riva Grill on the Lake hosts Wet Woody Wednesdays every Wednesday throughout the summer. Enjoy their infamous Wet Woody blended fruity rum beverage at a discount; as well as their tasty fish tacos. Post up on their waterfront deck and enjoy a breathtaking Tahoe sunset while you sip on a Wet Woody. And I do mean SIP…these babies are strong!
Highly recommended by myself, go enjoy your day, afternoon or evening at one of my fave spots in Lake Tahoe.
See you on the deck,
Aimi X.

Valhalla Ren Faire June 6 & 7

Written Friday, May 29th, 2009 by AimiX

Valhalla will host its annual Ren Faire this weekend, June 6 & 7. Tons of merchants, authentically dressed people and good food will be in abundance. We are expecting good weather for the event this weekend with the possibility of some afternoon thunderstorms.

For those of you unfamiliar with the Ren Faire it is definitely worth checking out. Arrive early because parking is alongside Hwy 89 and can fill up. It is located right across from Camp Richardson Resort.

I went a few years ago and the must-see attraction of the faire is definitely the Jousting event. I could smell the horses and feel the dust as I approached the arena. But let me tell you this is for real. The jousters are all geared up in metal suits and they are going at it! It looked painful when they collided but it sure did make for an exciting show.

Enjoy your weekend everyone and I’ll keep you posted on more upcoming events.

Seattle’s Best Coffee Shop Opens in Village

Written Friday, February 27th, 2009 by Russ

We all know how it goes down - South Shore draws you in like a moth to a flame. You go to Cabo Wabo for dinner and a little live music, and you end up making the walk of shame back to your hotel at 4:00am. You wake up at 8:00am to three feet of powder and you need to make it to the Gondola by 8:30am. With no time for breakfast, you stumble into the Heavenly Village and what’s there to greet you?

The uncommonly smooth line up of coffee and non-coffee beverages from Seattle’s Best Coffee, including lattes, mochas, hand-shaken cold brewed coffees and the JavaKula™ blended beverages – the Company’s signature blended beverage line. In addition, the cafe will offer a fresh food menu, featuring pastries and bakery items.

So grab a coffee and a pastry and you’ve got 15 minutes to fuel up before tearing up some serious pow. Swing by for Seattle’s Best’s Grand Opening in the Village, Saturday, February 28.
