Drive down highway 50 during the summer and you’ll notice smiling faces heading to one of the major hubs for summer activities in Tahoe: The Ski Run Marina.
The marina is a popular access point to Lake Tahoe. From here you can take a ride on the Tahoe Queen– a Mississippi paddle wheel tour boat, charter a fishing boat, go parasailing, rent a jet ski, kayak, or paddle board.
If you’d rather stay on shore- take your kids to bounce on the Air Tahoe trampolines, try the lakeside rock climbing wall, or go shopping in the Marina Village’s gift shops and boutiques.
Ski Run Marina is home to two of South Lake’s most popular restaurants. Riva Grill– with their “Wet Woody” and beautiful lakefront dining, is going to be the first stop of our Heavenly Happy Hour summer restaurant tour (check back later this week for a trip report.) In the Marina Village, Artemis Lakefront Cafe is the second location of the local Mediterranean/Greek restaurant.
Hang out in the marina and you might get lucky and cross paths with one of our snow reporters. A note from Mikaila Bird:
“As much as I love skiing and the amazing winters here in Lake Tahoe I equally live and absolutely love the summers here. I am spending my summer working in Ski Run Marina, with the water just a scooter ride down the dock, where there is total metropolis of fun with endless activities from delicious food, boat rentals, parasailing, rock climbing, paddle boarding, and where my job comes in, Sport Fishing charters. I am stoked to be working for such an awesome family company and promoting fishing on Lake Tahoe. I am still monitoring the weather and the winds everyday 😉 and learning more and more about this beautiful place I am so lucky to live in. Come stop by and visit me at Tahoe Sport Fishing and get a real taste of what fishing in Lake Tahoe is all about, and test your luck at catching some Macinaw, Brown and Rainbow Trout, and Kokanee Salmon!”
There’s only 11 days until we start our summer operations. See you in the marina- at the corner of Ski Run Blvd and Lake Tahoe Blvd- between now and then.
