New Terrain Opening – November 27

Heavenly Mountain from GoPro

Yesterday’s view of Lake Tahoe from Cal Trail captured by GoPro.

It has been an awesome last few days on the mountain. We opened on November 23, 2013 with Tamarack Express with access to Cal Trail. The view of Lake Tahoe from the slopes was a much welcomed sight.

Our expert team of snowmakers and groomers have been hard at work and we are thrilled to announce new terrain opening tomorrow! In addition to Tamarack Express, we will also run Dipper Express with access to Orion’s. East Peak Lodge will be open to satisfy all of your hunger cravings.

While we continue to work on Ante Up Terrain Park underneath Tamarack Express, our Terrain Park Crew has built a series of features along Cal Trail. Check it out as you head down Cal Trail on your left, and keep an eye out for updates on Ante Up.

For all you beginners out there, head over to the Red Fir area, just beyond Tamarack Lodge from the top of the Gondola. This newly opened terrain is perfect for those looking to learn how to ski or ride. Please note that Tamarack Express only services intermediate terrain.

If you are looking for tips and tricks from the pros, sign up for a Ski and Ride School lesson. Our coaches will help ease that awkward feeling of strapping planks to your feet and get you comfortable on the snow. We believe in hiring coaches who’re teachers and not just really awesome skiers and riders, although they tend to be that, too.

Don’t forget, after a day on the slopes, the party is just beginning at Unbuckle. And you won’t want to miss this party. Head to Tamarack Lodge from 3:30-5:30 pm Thursday-Saturday to hang with the Heavenly Angels and grab a half-priced drink.

Remember that all access to the mountain is from the Heavenly Gondola, located in the Heavenly Village. Please give us a shout if you have any questions and we’ll keep doing our best to give you the most up-to-date information.

We wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving and we’ll see you on the slopes!

Just heard that my kids’ ski school is canceled because there isn’t enough terrain available for their level of skiing. There goes our holiday plans. :(
