Warren Miller said that once you take your first ride up a chairlift, your life will be changed forever.
For me, that first chairlift ride was at Heavenly. As I enter my sixth season on the slopes, skiing and snow culture have taken over my life. This winter, I’m excited to be working with a great team of bloggers and snow addicts to cover the Tahoe ski and ride scene for TahoeSkiBum.com.
TahoeSkiBum.com is an insiders guide to life on the slopes and après-ski in beautiful Lake Tahoe. While we cover resorts and ski bum life throughout the Tahoe region, we have a special relationship with Heavenly Mountain.
The Tahoe Ski Bum offices are located just down the road from the California Base Lodge on the second floor of South Tahoe Ski and Board Rentals on Ski Run Blvd. Our resident photographer Brad Smith of 6225 Photography lives less than 5 minutes from the Cal Base Lodge. Our mountain insider who’ll be blogging about Heavenly for Tahoe Ski Bum — Caz Andrews — is a liftie at Heavenly. And we all know that no one knows the secrets of the mountain like a liftie. Additionally, my wife and I, who are co-publishers of TahoeSkiBum.com, log more days at Heavenly than any other mountain. You can join in on the fun as well by using the #TahoeSkiBum hash-tag when you are posting on Instagram and Twitter.
Yeah, I guess you could say we’ve got Heavenly covered.
To make sure you don’t miss a thing at Heavenly this winter, the first thing you ought to do is make sure you’ve already liked Heavenly’s Facebook page and that you’re following Heavenly on Twitter. After that, make sure you like Tahoe Ski Bum on Facebook and follow Tahoe Ski Bum on Twitter.
You can also listen for our Tahoe Ski Bum snow reports and après-ski reports every morning and afternoon on KTHO Radio 96.1 FM and 590 AM.
In the meantime, don’t let up on your snow dances. I want an epic winter from start to finish.
