If you are looking for something completely unique and different to do this Saturday, July 27, look no further than the Tenth Annual Garden Tour Tahoe in Bloom. This one-of-a-kind event gives you access to some of South Lake Tahoe’s most beautiful and lush flora and fauna as generous homeowners open up their gardens to the public.
You may not immediately think of Tahoe for its colorful flowers and cultivated plant life, but there are some serious garden enthusiasts in this town and they know how to nurture our delicate landscape. In addition to 9 private gardens around the community, this year’s tour will also showcase the new gardens, fountains and tree carvings at Barton Memorial Hospital.
Tickets are $25 and all proceeds benefit the Lake Tahoe Historical Society (so you can feel good about supporting a wonderful, local non-profit). In addition to the peace and serenity you will enjoy at each garden, the ticket price also includes refreshments and lunch, sponsored by Harrah’s/Harveys and Barton, served on the Patio at the hospital. The self-guided tour runs from 10:00 am until 4:00 pm so you can go at your own pace, in any order you choose.
Tickets are limited and advance purchase is encouraged. For more information, please call the Lake Tahoe Historical Museum at (530) 541-5458 or visit www.laketahoemuseum.org.
Take a break from the sand and water tomorrow and come see a different side of summer in South Lake Tahoe.
