We might be approaching the beginning of August, but summer is still in full swing at Tahoe. One event that has become a staple for the South Shore is the Live at Lakeview Summer Concert Series.
Live at Lakeview features a different genre of music each Thursday from 4:30-8:30 p.m. at Lakeview Commons and is free to the public. There are local vendors on-site selling food, shirts and more, as well as informing the public of their organizations. For those attendees 21-and-over, a beer garden at the top of the venue provides a scenic view of the lake, as well as an elevated view of the stage.
Food is available for purchase, and I highly recommend the fish tacos or the kettle corn. (Be sure to sample the Snickerdoodle-flavored kettle corn. Tastes just like the cookies!)
With six weeks of concerts to go, there is still a terrific lineup of bands.
July 25 – Vokab Kompany (Electronic Funk)
Aug. 1 – The Polyrhythmics (World)
Aug. 8 – 40 Watt Hype (Latin Fusion)
Aug. 15 – The Congress (Rock & Roll)
Aug. 22 – Lavish Green (South Shore)
Aug. 29 – Arden Park Roots (Reggae)
Also, there are three rules enforced by the city for the Lakeview Commons area that everyone should be aware of:
1) No Smoking
2) No Outside Alcohol
3) No Dogs
We encourage everyone to obey the above rules and respect others at the event. This summer series is a wonderful event, and one that everyone in the community hopes returns annually. For more details, check the event out on Facebook.
Come out, hang out, and enjoy listening to some great music while watching the sun set over the Sierra Nevada and Lake Tahoe!
