Oh yes, tons of fresh snow fell across the mountain and we could not be more ecstatic!
Powder, winter, fresh snow, dry snow, great powder conditions, and powder flying up to your knees can be found at Heavenly right now. The storm started with increasing clouds throughout the day Tuesday, then first flakes falling around 11:00 p.m. Tuesday evening, and then snow dumping by 12:00 a.m. Powder hounds alike watched and waited, and woke up to the site we’ve been hoping for… fresh snow on the ground and on the mountain.
With four inches of fresh snow at lake level, the trees have started to fill back in, the groomed runs are extra powdery and soft, and conditions have all around improved from their already good state.
Heavenly remains 100% open, with everything from beginner to double black diamond terrain, including Mott gates and Killebrew gates in Nevada. Fresh pow is like a gift of pure joy from Mother Nature herself, telling you to call off work, do your schoolwork online after or before the lifts close, and to enjoy what life is really about – having fun (and hopefully skiing or snowboarding.) We understand that not everyone can make it to the slopes as quick as possible, so we’ll make some extra fresh turns for you, until you get here.
March is packed with events and with great snow conditions, it could be our new favorite month this season. In December 2012, Heavenly had the snowiest December on record, and that make for a great snow base. Now we are indulging in the new snow and enjoying every bit of it.
Pow, pow! That’s what we live for.
See you out there, enjoy the snow! = )
