Forest Fire Safety at Heavenly Mountain

Last year I lived in Breckenridge and still have many good friends living in Colorado. The wildfires blazing through the country right now have really hit home with me. With the dry conditions here in Tahoe, Heavenly is taking an extra effort to make people aware of the extremely high threat of forest fire. We all need to be extra cautious in the mountains this summer around Lake Tahoe and in public campgrounds.

In an effort to proactively protect our guests, our employees and Lake Tahoe’s one-of-a-kind natural landscape, Heavenly and Vail Resorts have implemented the following precautions at our mountain resorts:

• Smoking is currently prohibited in all areas of our mountain resorts, including all facilities in the resorts
• No Parking vehicles on any vegetation
• No open flames, e.g. lighters, stoves
• No Fireworks
• If you see smoke or flames, please call 911 and report it to resort staff immediately

Thank you for understanding these important restrictions. Our thoughts go out to all of our friends in Colorado and those affected by the wildfires around the country.

Let’s all have a safe, fun and relaxing summer!
