Daily Snow Report 4/28/12

Good morning, Skiers and Riders!  There are two more lovely spring days to get some turns in for the 2011/12 ski and ride season! Head up and carve some snow while you still can! Lifts open at 9am.

As of 7am, it’s 27 degrees at mid mountain and 30 up top with mostly clear skies and light winds. The forecast calls for sunny skies, with some increasing clouds, light winds and temps in the upper 40s to upper 60s. Sunscreen and continuous hydration essential for this warm spring day!

Mountain access is now out of the Gondola ONLY, with skiing and riding access via Tamarack Express and Dipper Express. You’ll have access to a total of 19 trails on a 20-40 inch base of spring conditions and machine-groomed snow. The groomers laid corduroy on 9 of the open trails last night, and recommend Big Dipper for you today. Please Note: there is no beginner terrain available today. Obstacles do exist on and off the groomed trails, so please exercise caution and observe all posted signs and closures.

Adventure Peak and ski school are closed for the season, but we are offering Gondola sightseeing today. Ante Up Terrain Park has 12 features, including 3 jumps, with a difficulty level reminiscent of Groove Park.

Tamarack Lodge is open with a limited Spring menu and East Peak Lodge will be open from 10a-3:30p. Please Note: Shuttle busses are no longer running for the season. Tomorrow, April 29th is closing day for the 2011/12 ski and ride season.

Don’t forget to purchase your 2012/13 Season pass for access to the best of Tahoe with Heavenly, Northstar and Kirkwood! Visit a pass office for more details.
