Daily Snow Report 4/27/12

Good morning, Skiers and Riders!  We’re celebrating Closing Weekend for the 2011/12 ski and ride season with 3-4 inches of fresh snow on the ground and miles of fresh corduroy! Come join us for a beautiful spring day and get those laps in while you can! Lifts open at 9am.

As of 7am, it’s currently 15 degrees at mid mountain and 15 up top with mostly clear skies and light winds. The forecast calls for sunny skies, light to moderate winds and temps in the mid 40s to mid 50s. Sunscreen and continuous hydration are excellent ideas for this gorgeous spring day!

Mountain access is now out of the Gondola ONLY, with skiing and riding access via Tamarack Express and Dipper Express. You’ll have access to a total of 17 trails on a 24-40 inch base of powder, spring conditions and machine-groomed snow. The groomers smoothed corduroy on11 of the open trails last night, and recommend Comet for you today. Please Note: there is no beginner terrain available today. Obstacles do exist on and off the groomed trails, so please exercise caution and observe all posted signs and closures.

Adventure Peak and Ski School are closed for the season, but we are offering Gondola sightseeing today. Ante Up Terrain Park has also been rebuilt with 12 features, including 3 jumps, with a difficulty level reminiscent of Groove Park.

Tamarack Lodge is open with a limited Spring menu and East Peak Lodge will be open from 10a-3:30p. Please Note: Shuttle busses are no longer running for the season. This Sunday April 29th is closing day for the 2011/12 ski and ride season.

Don’t forget to purchase your 2012/13 Season Pass for access to the best of Tahoe with Heavenly, Northstar and Kirkwood! Buy yours today at the Gondola pass office.
