Daily Snow Report 3/12/12

Good Morning, Skiers and Riders! It looks as though another winter storm is blowing in and we’re anticipating a few feet of fresh powder to fall by the end of the week! The snow is expected to begin this afternoon and into tonight with a few inches possible by tomorrow morning!

As the snow makes its way towards Tahoe, winds are expected to increase. Winds may impact lift operations, please call back or check skiheavenly.com for the latest.

As of 7am it’s 25 degrees at mid mountain and 16 degrees at the summit with partly cloudy skies and light to moderate winds. Forecast calls for a chance of snow this afternoon, with moderate to strong winds and temps in the mid to upper 30s. Wear warm layers, a wind and weatherproof shell and clear lenses. Obstacles do exist off the groomed trails, so please exercise caution and observe all posted signs and closures. Play it safe, play all season!

We plan to operate 24 lifts today accessing 75 trails with a 38″-54″ base of packed powder and machine-groomed snow for you to cruise over.

Adventure Peak plans to open 5 lanes of tubing today and sledding for kids 6 and under. Ante Up, High Roller and Groove Terrain Parks are open with a combined 10 jumps and 53 features.

Our groomers suggest carving into Mombo Meadows in CA today or Olympic Downhill in NV.

Please note that Boulder Lift and Lodge and North Bowl Lift will be closed today. We will have free shuttle busses running between all 4 base lodges for your convenience.

Learn about Tahoe’s history by taking advantage of our ‘Ski with a Ranger’ program. Guided tours leave at 10am or 1pm today at the top of the Gondola. Intermediate level skiing/riding is required.
