Daily Snow Report 3/3/12

snow1-24

Good Morning, Skiers and Riders! Today we are opening gates 1-4 in Mott Canyon at 10am! With well over 3 feet of fallen snow in the last week, you should seriously get up early to get fresh tracks on some the best double black terrain in Tahoe!

Lifts open at 8:30am.

As of 6:30a, it’s currently 24 degrees at mid mountain and 23 degrees at the summit with sunny skies and light winds. The forecast calls for sunny skies all day long, with light winds and temps in the upper 30s to low 50s. Wear tinted lenses and plenty of sunscreen!

Today we’ll be operating 27 lifts with access to 81 trails and the most terrain in Tahoe on 3600 open acres! We’re now rocking a 36”-52 inch base of powder, skier-packed powder and machine-groomed snow. Up at Adventure Peak, the tubing hill has been expanded back to 7 lanes and we’re offering sledding for kids 6 and under. We now have 3 terrain parks of all levels, with a total of 62 creative features. The groomers laid nice thick corduroy on more than 45 of our trails and recommend you sample their work on High Five in CA and Jack’s in NV.

Obstacles do exist off the groomed trails, so please exercise caution and observe all posted signs and closures. Play it safe, play all season! We will have free shuttle busses running between all 4 open base lodges today for your convenience.

Join the party this afternoon at Unbuckle, rated number 1 best après ski party at any ski resort by Forbes Magazine! The party goes from 3:30-5:30pm in the Tamarack Lodge with appetizers, half priced drinks, dancing EpicMix Chicks, the Heavenly Angels, and a live DJ. Or, for some family fun, head over to the Heavenly Village at 4:30p for the Ripperoo Kids’ Snow Parade!
