Daily Snow Report 2/4/12

Good morning, Skiers and Riders! Face Rats rejoice, our snowmakers have done it again! Today is opening day for East Bowl under Gunbarrel Express and you’re going to want to get there early for first tracks in the freshly-made snow on one of our signature expert runs! We’ll be operating 25 lifts today, including the newly reopened North Bowl Chair, accessing 63 trails with a 25-35 inch base. All in all, you can carve up more than 31 miles of open terrain. Visit Adventure Peak for tubing, sledding, or access to our medium terrain park, Ante Up, which is rocking 22 features. Jump and jib on 23 features in Groove Park, our small terrain park in CA.
Wear your sunscreen today! Lifts open at 8:30am!
Besides today’s debut of East Bowl, our snowmakers and groomers continue to jump on every opportunity to make more snow for our elite grooming team to smooth into nice long rows of corduroy. They suggest you check out their work on CA Trail in NV today and on the beautiful Ridge Run in CA.
Take advantage of our free shuttle busses running between all 4 base lodges. North Bowl Chair is open today, so all four base lodges provide access to the upper mountain. Obstacles do exist on and off the groomed trails, so please exercise caution and observe all posted signs and closures. Play it safe, play all season!
Today’s big event is the The Nike Chosen Tour, blazing through town with an impressive display of lights and athleticism! Enjoy the spectacle from 4-7pm at the base of world cup as local heavy hitters throw down for $5000 in cash prizes! Unbuckle après ski party is on at Tamarack Lodge from 3:30-5:30pm with half priced drinks, a live DJ, and the Heavenly Angels. Or, families, join us at 4:30p in the Heavenly Village for the Ripperoo Crew Kids’ Parade.
