Daily Snow Report 1/22/12

IMG_4666

Good Morning, Skiers and Riders! When Mother Nature decides to pitch in, she certainly delivers. With another 7”-8” of snow falling yesterday, the storm delivered over a foot and a half on the upper mountain in total! There’s a chance of another 2 feet by tomorrow!

Winds are impacting lift operations. Tamarack, Comet, North Bowl and Sky Express are starting the day on hold. This means you can ski/ride from NV to CA, but not the reverse, at this time. Please call 1.800.HEAVENLY or check back for the latest. Lifts open at 8:30AM.

Today we plan to operate 24 lifts, giving you access 20 miles of freshly groomed corduroy on 32 trails! You’ll find new terrain with the debut of Mombo Meadows and we now have skiing and riding top to bottom in both states with yesterday’s addition of Round-a-bout. The groomers recommend their handiwork on High Roller in CA, today, and on Big Dipper in NV. Check out the Tubing Hill, now open with 5 lanes, sledding for the little ones. Layer up under a sturdy shell and keep yourself hydrated! Please observe all posted closures. Play it safe, play all season!

It’s National Safety Awareness Week and today we just want to remind you to wear your helmet; not only does it help keep you safe, it’s great for keeping your head warm! Ski Patrol will be honoring Safety Week today by providing a rope rescue demonstration at the top of the Gondola from 11-1p today.

Join us from 3:30-5:30p in the Tamarack Lodge for ‘Unbuckle’, Tahoe’s ultimate apres party including appetizers, 1/2 price drinks and a live dj!

Be sure to visit our new Snow Reporting tab on the Heavenly Mountain Facebook page! It’s the one-stop-shop for all of the latest conditions related information!
