When I saw the most recent video installment from my teammate, Chris Stamey, our lead videographer here at Heavenly, I got that warm fuzzy feeling and my heart swelled with appreciation.
After spoiling us so much last season, Mother Nature is being a little stingy with us by comparison, so far this time around. But we haven’t lost faith nor the memory of seasons passed, like the 2008/9 season, when Santa brought a nearly four-foot dump on Christmas morning to kick things off (hope you’ve been good this year)! In the meantime, our snowmakers and groomers are working tirelessly to open terrain as quickly as possible.
This is one of those seasons where we are ever so grateful to our incredible snowmaking team who provide us with the best man-made snow you can find, and thus, an opportunity to get our legs ready for when the big dump does come. It’s one of those seasons when the fine attention our groomers pay to laying and maintaining the highest standard of corduroy becomes even more obvious and valuable.
Look around, no resort in Tahoe has this much terrain open and no one can beat these surface conditions right now. Some resorts haven’t even been able to open, yet. Our terrain park crew has even orchestrated a full rebuild on what was already Tahoe’s best terrain park, Ante Up, and scheduled to debut soon!
We are so lucky to have this team right now!
