There are so many things to be thankful for in this world, it is almost difficult to know where to begin. On the top of my mind right now, are all of the beautiful new experiences I’ve had since moving to South Lake Tahoe.
1. Sunsets: I am originally a beach girl. Born and bred with my toes in the sands of California beaches. And one of my favorite things about California beaches are the bright orangey, pink sunsets that reflect off of the Pacific Ocean. Moving to the mountains, I thought this would be one of the things I’d miss most. But man, did the mountains prove me wrong. I was blown away by a recent sunset over the mountains that lit up the sky and the lake with fiery pinks and cool purples. (Photo above)
2. Snow: The buzz surrounding the first snow storm here in Tahoe was tangible. I clearly remember sitting on my bed that night, glancing out the window and seeing those magical light, fluffy, white flakes fluttering down through the trees. My heart jumped. It was just like Christmas! And then an even more spectacular moment came when I woke up in the morning to the town covered in a soft white blanket of snow.
3. Heavenly Mountain: World-class terrain, unbeatable views, AND casinos at the base. Opening weekend totally got me pumped for the season. Riding the gondola up and seeing a birds-eye view of Lake Tahoe, taking my first turns on California Trail, all culminating in an absolutely EPIC Après Ski Party at Tamarack Lodge, was sure a mind-blowingly awesome way to kick off the 2011-12 season.
4. Work: Putting out a thank you out to The Man? Heck yes. I am so thankful for the people I work with and the things I get to do for my job. The passion and creativity that oozes from our office is what gets me going in the morning.
We are a very lucky bunch here in the Heavenly offices and have much to be thankful for. So I asked around the office and here are some of the thankful thoughts I received.
