HEAVENLY PARTNERS WITH SNOWPARK TECHNOLOGIES

The 2011/2012 ski and ride season is already off to a fantastic start with unmatched snow conditions on the mountain, new terrain opening daily, Tahoe’s best early-season terrain park and a high-energy event lineup off the mountain.

If the addition of dj-hosted Après parties at the Tamarack Lodge with drink specials and go-go dancers wasn’t enough to get me moving (I’m a sucker for beats), today’s announcement will surely put some get up in my go!

The cat is out of the bag, Ladies and Gentlemen, and he’s bypassed the curtains to shred the gnar on the Heavenly Halfpipe!

That’s right, you heard it! The rumor mill has officially ground to a halt and I’m telling you flat out, verifiably true, that Heavenly is bringing back the pipe!

Over the last several years, our terrain parks have gained a reputation for their creativity and quality, thanks to the ingenuity of our director of terrain parks, Mike Thomas. This year, we’ve partnered with the best in the business, Snow Park Technologies, to take our parks and our events to a whole new level.  If you don’t know who SPT is, just think X Games, Dew Tour, best parks in the world….etc. etc.

The team put their heads together to find the best location and design for the new pipe.  It’s going to be on the recently-widened lower portion of High Roller, in a location that allows it to soften evenly in the sun. The best part, though, is that as you spin and huck off the lip on the new 18 foot pipe, you’ll have that beautiful reminder of where you are in full view: the ever-blue Lake Tahoe.

I don’t know about you, but my pipe skills are a little rusty, so this is excellent news. I’ll be counting down the days to the opening of the new pipe (Martin Luther King weekend, Jan 14-16, weather and conditions permitting), and looking forward to sunny spring days boosting back and forth, becoming a more well-rounded rider.

We’re All-In this season, Everyone! Just another reason to spend your season here with me at Heavenly…
