How to Save Money When Eating on the Mountain

To me, nothing is better than getting on the mountain early in the day and skiing (or riding) until my legs ache and my stomach grumbles. I can always tell when it’s time to take a break, because the snow starts to look appetizing!

Luckily, at Heavenly there are plenty of comfy, cozy lodges to kick-back, relax and enjoy some delicious grub. My favorite? The Monte Cristo: two deep fried pieces of French toast sandwiching cheese and meat. It’s a-mazing.

Since we like to give you some insider tips here on the blog, today we’re sharing a few ways you can save money on food during your next stop at a Heavenly lodge.

Lunch For Less

Contrary to what you might think, eating lunch on the mountain doesn’t have to break the bank. In fact, at every Heavenly lodge (except Café Blue and Snowbeach) we offer a daily “Lunch For Less” special that gets you a lot of food for a reasonable price.

For $9.95 you can get an entrée item, side and your choice of fountain beverage, coffee or hot chocolate.

Not too shabby, right? And of course, with the money you’re saving, you should probably treat yourself to a warm chocolate chip cookie. Dessert is ok if you’re burning it off on the slopes, right??

Mountain Meal Card

For those of you who like to plan ahead, if you know you’re coming to visit Heavenly and will be eating on the mountain, then the Mountain Meal Card is a great way to get FREE money! Everyone likes free money, right?!

Just buy a card at least eight days before your visit and you’ll get an extra 10-20% of the total card value automatically. It’s a no-brainer if lodge dining is in your vacation plan.

That’s all the money-saving tips for now. All this food has made me hungry! See you guys in the food line.
