Video: Thanks for a great season!
Well, gang, it’s been an AMAZING ski and snowboard season. We were the first major Lake Tahoe resort to open (with the most terrain, by the way) thanks to the West Coast’s Largest Snowmaking System. If you remember how awesome those early turns were, you’ll appreciate the work that went behind them, documented in Dane’s incredible documentary called “The Snowmakers.”
After that, it seems like it was just one storm after another. Snow was bountiful this season, and conditions were pretty epic. There were a ton of good Firebreak days this season, and Mott and Killebrew went off as well. For those of you who don’t know what I’m talking about, we also launched a new website called Tahoe Stash, which let you know where all the hidden stashes are.
Tahoe Snowcial rocked out with MC Hammer in January, and SpringLoaded jammed with the Dan Band in April. It was, if not the best, the fastest Gunbarrel 25 ever, with winner Janez Demsar breaking the three-hour mark. That’s the running equivalent of a four-minute mile! We opened our new tubing hill, and for some late-season park riding, you couldn’t beat The Gambler.
All in all, we’ve been open for 157 days, 365 inches of snowfall, countless pow turns and a ton of Epic burgers!
To recap it all, Heavenly videographer Chris Stamey put together this award-worthy piece. Nearly 200 shots and nine minutes of video packed into three-and-a-half fun-filled minutes. It’s best if you watch it full-screen (or in HD at Vimeo).
If that looked like fun, you might want to get a $339 Heavenly season pass for next season. It gives you access to Tahoe’s top mountain with Tahoe’s best pass deal. We’ll keep the updates coming on the blog as we build the new top-of-the-Gondola lodge, and we’ll keep the deals and videos coming on Facebook and Twitter (@skiheavenly). Have a great summer and we’ll see you on the mountain next winter!

It was a great ski season. I’m in total denial about it’s end. I guess now I can get around to all those home repairs since I’ve got nothing better to do.
I’m excited about a new lodge at the top of the gondola. But I hope it won’t be the end of the AWESOME Horizon smoker, outside BBQ, etc.
Please post pics and layouts of the new Gondola setup.

Hey All,
Thanx for the great season, and end of year vid! I’m not quite putting the blower away yet until the lastest blows thru this week.
I have only been getting a pass for the past 8-9 yrs (i am a Sierra convert. Skied there since i was 4), but i am loving your mountain! I am still exploring and finding some sweet staches in the Northbowl and i “live” in Motts the other times.
I went to Taos, NM last yr (which i consider a “destination” resort) and we mildly disappointed. It hadn’t snowed for a week or so, and even tho i loved hiking and skiing their chutes, their groomed couldn’t hold a candle to yours! The way your drivers do their magic over nite is second to none!
So thanx again, have a great summer (whenever it gets here), and wave when you see some old guys riding his mt. bike thru the hills!

Dan – thanks for the sentiments. We’ll definitely keep you in the loop on the progress of the lodge.

Thanks, Ric. By the way, it’s your mountain, too!
