Tim - As soon as terrain is ready, we'll be ready. I don't know if you've been to Heavenly in the summer, but our trails have a lot of boulders and downed trees that help stop erosion and provide habitat for wildlife. So we need a lot of snow to get the trails where we want them from a quality standpoint. As I've said before, we're all about quality and service here, and we won't open a trail that doesn't hold up to that brand promise.

Any sense of how many lifts will be open this weekend? Dying to break out our season pass and brave the drive. Will the Cali lifts be open to get to NV?

In the wise words of Vaughn Monroe:

“Oh the weather outside is frightful,
But the fire is so delightful,
And since we've no place to go,
Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!”

Can't wait, group of 17 of us going to be there on the 22 Dec.

How much terrain do you think will be open after this?

PS: Looks like more on the way next week!!

I echo Mat's question. I'm visiting from Chicago next week and want to explore the entire mountain.

Is early season lift operation and staffing driven by the calendar, or do you have enough people at the ready as soon as additional terrain is deemed skiable?
