I just got word from Casey, Heavenly’s VP of Mountain Ops, that we will be opening Comet Express and Comet run tomorrow morning just in time for Thanksgiving! Opening Day Recap
What an opening day. The weather was perfect, the sun was shining, Lake Tahoe was incredibly blue and the snow was A-MAZING. It’s hard to believe that the wind was blowing in excess of 100mph yesterday and it was dumping snow. I guess that’s why we live in Tahoe.

Snow Update
It started snowing around 1:00pm and we’ve easily got two inches on the ground at Lake level as I write this at 3:30pm. This storm is forecast to continue dumping all day and into tonight, petering out tomorrow morning. We’re expecting a foot to a foot-and-a-half by tomorrow morning. Lifts spin at 8:30am.
