It was a magical, beautiful day watching our 9-year-old boy enter and finish his first GB25!

I just want to go on record saying how impressed my wife and I were with Glen and Kimberly Plake’s willingness to roll up their sleeves and do whatever it took to make this a memorable event for everyone.

Seeing them set up tables and unpack boxes of goodies at the post-event awards ceremony sets a great example (especially for the young folks) of “no job too small” when trying to make something happen.

Thanks, Glen & Kimberly, for all you do!

I did the GB 25 for 2nd time and still did not complete the 25 laps. This is despite, for the 2nd time, having completed six hours of the hardest skiing I have every done.

I am not a world class pro, so this is a daunting event. I love endurance events, and I enjoy skiing and being with skiers, so this is a natural choice for me.

I recommend that all skiers who think they have endurance show up for this event in 2010 – you need not be a racer to challenge yourself at this level, and you need to complete the event to win your own victory.

Thanks Glen, for having one of the freshest endurance events on the planet. I equate it to the Athens to Atlanta Inline Skating Race (that I have also done), that started as a few buddies skating 86 miles together, and grew to be one of the premier outdoor inline racing events in the country.
