High Roller Brent Abrams Checks In!!
Hello,
Heavenly is fun right now. I came home 5 days ago, and when I first arrived in Tahoe there wasn’t much snow. However, the next day, after my arrival, it started dumping. Tahoe (Heavenly) finally has the snow needed to start the season. The trees are now filled in, Mott is open, and every day the park crew makes the jumps bigger and bigger. I guess Powderbowl park is open now too; I’m excited to go check it out.
The best part about being home is the weather. Tahoe is the only place, in the world, where it will dump 3 feet of perfect snow and then the next day it will be 40 degrees. Its winter and I’m walking around in shorts and a T-shirt before and after skiing – you can’t do that in Colorado or the East Coast because you’ll freeze to death. Plus, the warm weather does not ruin the snow – it’s still perfect and soft up on the mountain where it stays cold.
It is 45 degrees this morning; I’m sunning on my back porch right now. I’m going to the gym for an hour ride in a bit, then I’m going to go ski this afternoon, and then I’m going to go play poker tonight at Mont Bleu (Blu has really good filtered air so that the cigarette smoke isn’t too bad).
I leave for Colorado in like 4 days. Not really looking forward to it because I hate how cold Colorado is, but my sponsors sent me warmer jackets so hopefully it will be better this year.
Have fun at Heavenly – enjoy the sun.
Brent
