Winter Storm Moving In!
A big, Tahoe-style winter storm is moving into the area. We only got an inch last night, but Western Weather Group forecast is calling for five to 12 inches today, three to eight inches tonight, and 12 to 24 inches tomorrow! Your snow prayers have been answered!
Dane got some cool time-lapse stuff on the storm moving in:
They’re also talking about serious wind associated with this storm. Our Mountain Ops team was able to get the lifts spinning today, tomorrow’s going to be tough. Check the Conditions Page in the morning to get the latest.
Next week will be pretty awesome!

Those clouds do not look nearly dark or heavy enough yet….Come on Mother Nature! Bring it on! Are you still making snow in anticipation that this might all be a cruel hoax by the weather?

This is great news. We will be in Tahoe one week from today and are looking forward to some great skiing.

They blow snow even when it is dumping in order to be sure to open new terrain this early in the season and the snow isn’t going to get heavy until Sunday night. A little faith goes a long ways.

Those clouds do not do justice for what is about to happen. We could have a foot to two feet over 7,000 feet by tuesday. It is also really cold so the snow is way fluffier then normal. Hey, beggers can’t be choosers.

This is NOT a big ‘Tahoe Style’ storm at all. It is a cutoff low pulling cyclonic moisture from the Pacific. A foot or 2 of cold dry powder, yes, but really bad for the backcountry, as this layer sets up terrible avie conditions for the year.

YES! This just made my week myself and a few buddies are flying in from minnesota(minnesnowless). We have been trippin cause of the 18 in base, but the snow gods have pulled through again!! Cant wait to board on that backcountry!
