Opening Update – Big Dipper Opens 12.05!
Great news, gang. Barrett and his snowmakers have been pounding Big Dipper of the past couple of nights and it should be ready to go tomorrow morning! This gives Heavenly TWO mile-long trails to satisfy your ski or snowboard jones. With the West Coast’s largest snowmaking system at our disposal, we’ve got more open terrain and better surface conditions than any other resort at Lake Tahoe!
Big Dipper will be groomed at the top tomorrow morning, but the lower portion of the run will all be snowmaking, giving us a “powder”-type experience. Should be silky smooth.
In terms of the forecast, we’re now focusing on Comet, and we should have that top-to-bottom in a couple more nights, so maybe by the end of the weekend. We’re also beginning work on Cal Trail, Canyon and the CAML base area, so, with any luck, the terrain should be expanding farily quickly.
