How about this. If you are a season pass holder, (in other words, a LOCAL!) and spend $25 (or more – probably more) at one of the “Locals Sales” dealers, then the blackout day (Friday or Saturday) doesn’t apply! Win-win for everyone! It doesn’t make sense to black out opening day(s) when the locals are responsible for such a large portion of the revenues over the course of the season. If opening day was any other date, I can understand how it makes sense for the mountain to make the most $ it can on a busy weekend – but-c’mon! Say something- Please!!!!

I’m gonna be there this weekend. Hopefully you guys should be open by then so I can do my part and sacrifice some rental skis to the snow gods…

I agree with Jim. I bought a pass thinking that the 21st would be opening day. Here it is the 26th and I have yet to be on the mountain. I have lost a week of riding already but great news it will be even longer because of black out dates. Help the locals! It maybe the only source of income due to the economy this year.
