DEAR HEAVENLY SKIERS,
WHAT A HOMECOMING TO COME HOME TO! FENCES BURIED, SKI
TO CABIN, WATCH THE STORM COME IN AND DUMP THEN CLEAR.
IT’S BEEN A LONG TIME SINCE I’VE SEEN THIS MUCH SNOW
ALL THE WAY DOWN TO THE VALLEY FLOOR. THIS YEAR – HEAVENLY HAS EVEN EXTENEDED OUR SEASON THRU MAY 4!!!! RIGHT NOW I AM ON A PLANE TO EUROPE – WORKING AT THE DALBELLO AND ELAN FACTORIES, SKIING AT THE NISSAN FREERIDE WORLD TOURS IN TIGNES, FRANCE AND VERBIER, SWITZERLAND. I WILL THEN BE GOING TO A SKI
PROMOTION AT ARE, SWEDEN THEN SKIING A FEW DAYS IN CHAMONIX.
IT WAS VERY HARD FOR ME TO LEAVE TAHOE, BUT MY LAST
DAY THERE WAS FILLED WITH TWO RUNS TO THE DESERT THRU THE GATES AT HEAVENLY THEN FINISHING UP THE DAY POWERING THROUGH THE BUMPS ON GUNBARREL CHAIR. GETTING READY FOR THE GUNBARREL 25 ON APRIL 5 – CAN’T WAIT TO SKI YOU THEN, IT’S GOING TO BE AN AWESOME SPRING!

Curiosity requires the question be posed- what gates at Heavenly lead you to the desert? Is that the firebreak gates (nay, can’t be; that gate leads to SLT). Where can I find the referred to gate? I live in Carson City and see plenty of tracks coming down the Stagecoach side of the mountain but have not figured out the access. Hopefully someone will pass along the good word!

I have just had the best of times skiing Heavenly for the past two weeks and was lucky enough to catch you twice on the slopes. I am also off to Chamonix in a couple of weeks. When you going to be out there?
