Glen Plake Checks-In

Since I last checked-in I have flown on ten planes gone
to two Trade Fairs, six TV interviews, eight magazine
interviews, filmed for web Nissan-sportsadventure.com
skied in Sochi, Russia (where the 2014 winter Olympics
will be held), Stratton, VT and now Steamboat, CO. I have
just finished filming a Reel Thrills episode here covering their
2008 Winter Carnival. Needless to say I am a bit
traveled and happy that as of February 19 I will be headed
towards Heavenly.
To my recent recollection this is one of my busiest
winter seasons so far. I have been named to the
International Nissan Sports Adventure Team which took
me to Mammoth and Russia and on to Europe later this
month for their Nissan Freeride World Tour events.
Also, having fulfilled the trade show schedule at Ski
Industries of America SIA in Vegas, and the on-snow in
Vermont; plus starting out this season on our Down Home Tour
(http://web.mac.com/snowplake to look at each stop and
my journal) this one is going down in our history as a
big winter and it’s just mid February!
While in Europe I look forward to time in Chamonix to
test and finish a new ski boot and discussing future
expedition plans with my climbing/ski partners.
I am very happy to say our Elan Bloodline mogul skis
are being tested now, and a pair will be the Gunbarrel 25 grand
prize this year – they will come in sizes from 125 -
201 your choice!
Hope to ski you soon at Heavenly – Glen

Awesome that those elan bloodlines are going to be made down to 125cm! (I had heard 145…which is still shorter than any other available mogul ski, but 125cm – that is awsesome). Its tragic that there hasn’t been any junior length mogul skis made in years, by any brand, but glad to see Elan step up to the plate!

    Hi Glen,
It’s been along time since we’ve seen you down here at Craigieburn Valley, South Island, New Zealand. We are starting a Big Mountain Comp this winter for the kids 10-18 year olds and we would like to name the trophy after your esteemed self. Is that OK with you?
    Andy
