Team Rider Rich Marlowe Back in Tahoe
Happy New New Year to the Heavenly Nation from Rich Marlowe! I just wanted to drop a line and let everyone know that I am happy to be back in Tahoe. I have been spending time with my family in Youngstown, Ohio for the holidays. I have been having a wonderful time with my siblings Patrick, Timothy, and Macy as well as my parents. As always, I am excited to see all the snow and my fellow High Roller Team members so that we can start off the New Year with style and intensity.
While at home I was able to ride at the resort I grew up at, Seven Springs Mountain Resort, in Champion, PA. I saw some of the original members of the Springs’ crew…such as Ryan O’Mahony his brother Mini-O, Matt Webb, Chaz Ott, Jon-Marc Livorio and a few other old schoolers that are still riding hard. The Springs received about 8 inches of fresh snow New Year’s day and night so it made for some good East Coast powder skiing; however I love to ride the deep pow at Heavenly. I also was able to meet with the Springs’ Action Sports Director, Danny Vogel, to set up an East Coast photo shoot for later in the year, which will be a great time if we can pull it off. It always feels good to ride at Seven Springs because I grew up skiing there since the age of five and it definitely provided the basis for my skiing career on the West Coast at beautiful Heavenly Lake Tahoe. I am very grateful for my position on the Heavenly High Roller Team and I realize that I am fortunate to have been able to pursue dreams and to make those dreams come alive through hardwork, dedication and committment. Never hesitate to come up and say hello because one of my favorite pasttimes on the mountain is interaction with the fellow skiers and riders that make Heavenly “the place to be in Tahoe.”
I am also looking forward to the Heavenly Employee Rail Jam on Monday Jan. 14 from 5-7…because I get to provide the beats and music for all the competitors, so I encourage everyone to come check out the people that make our mountain run because I have a feeling we are going to see some spectacular tricks as well as crashes. Well it has been a pleasure providing a little insight about my East Coast holiday vacation…now I am enjoying eleven feet of powder and a wonderful season at Heavenly. Happy New Year to everyone…
Think Snow,

Its great to hear good things about Heavnely especially from someone who spends time at the Springs. We are from Pittsburgh and I have been skiing at 7 Springs for over 30 years. I now have my entirely family, wife, 15 yr old son, 7 yr old son and 5 yr old daughter all avid skiers. We are coming out to Heavenly for the first time in March and can not wait. We keep up on the conditions every other day and the outlook looks great for the early spring. After New Years about Jan 3rd & Springs received 20″ off fresh snow, unfortunately in out area two days later it was 50 degrees and raining, we are still waiting for the next storm to hit so we can get back. If you have any suggestions for us gin March please let me know, we are staying in a condo right across from the gondola owner by a man we met from Cincinatti.

Yo Marlowe dude! How’s it going, been a long time, last I heard you were in Mammoth. I just got back from Breck, the Lake Chutes were loaded with fresh powder so it was pretty sweet. Vail has been calling my name on a permanent basis; I just can’t get enough of the back bowls. I’m trying to get out to Heavenly in a couple weeks…I want to check out Killebrew Canyon, but after that its all park…maybe you can show me a thing or two from your repertoire; like landing a 450 on one ski… It’s good to see your still out rippin it up. I’m heading to the Burgh for the first time in years and skiing 7Springs next weekend for some old school action. (Speaking of old school, where my skis at! just kidding, they’re from ‘94 and weigh 50 pounds, ha-ha) It’s been so long since I’ve been there, going to get some Goosebumps. Looking forward to Heavenly, drop me a line if you get a chance.
