Book Early for the Best Deals

This is Darcy, the Reservation Manager at Heavenly Tahoe Vacations (HTV). The HTV office sits right at the base of Heavenly’s Stagecoach Lodge on the Nevada side where we help folks plan their winter vacation! Our vacation coordinators can give you the inside scoops on the best places to stay, eat and ski or ride on the mountain.

So you haven’t made up your mind where you would like to take your next ski vacation? Did you know that by booking now you have the most access to the best lodging choices? This may not seem important, but if you need something specific, like a three-bedroom condo, those are tough to come by and might be booked by the time you decide to come up! Also, last-minute deals are becoming tougher and tougher to find. By booking early, you get the best prices on lodging, lift tickets and airfare, if you need it. My advice is book now, get the best locations and worry less if something else comes up.

I would also love to know:
What is the number one amenity that you look for when booking a hotel for a ski vacation? Tell us by submitting your comments below!

Darcy speaks the truth.. booking early is your best bet. I’m in the process of writing a similar article for my blog.

I have worked with Heavenly Tahoe Vacations in the past and they are good folks.

The number one amenity I look for when booking a hotel during ski season? Proximity to the resort.. and Heavenly has plenty of hotels to choose from!

Darcy, how about offering something special, with real value, when peole sign up early for their winter travels.

A gas card to get me up the mountain, or a free iPod with purchase of a HTV rental and weekend ski pass would be nice.

The number one amenities I look for in a skiing holiday are a large bath (jets in the tub are an added bonus, but I really just want water that will come up to my chin after a punishing day’s ski), a good breakfast and a soft bed. A spa onsite is great too (although I found a lovely visiting masseuse who came to the room when we stayed at the Embassy Suites next to Harrahs). We tend to ski both Heavenly and Northstar each year, but we stay in Heavenly Village for the variety of restaurants and the fantastic atmosphere.
