Heavenly Re-Opens Gondola June 29
Obviously, our number-one priority is the safety and well-being of the people that live here, as well as those who come to visit. So, with the Angora Wildfire nearing containment, we felt it was the right time to resume normal summer operations. The Gondola will open at 10am and run through 5pm daily. Lake Tahoe is accessible and safe, and there’s no place like Tahoe for the Fourth of July.
Heavenly’s California Lodge has served as the Incident Command Post for the bulk of the operation. It’s pretty amazing what goes into supporting 2,000 firefighters, USFS personnel and media. We threw together a little video to not only pay tribute the firefighters who are fighting to protect one of the nation’s true treasures, but to also thank the folks on the ground who are supporting them. In an effort to preserve our natural resource and in response to the elevated fire danger, Heavenly has integrated a strict no-smoking policy on the Gondola from top to bottom, including the observation deck and throughout the activities areas. |

Thank you to all the firefighters and all the support from people all over. I live in South Lake Tahoe, CA and Carson City, NV… The show of support from people in these communities and is incredible. Thank you to the Reno, Carson Valley and Carson City fire departments for a quick response during the first hours of the fire.

Very moving video. Thank you to all who have helped in fighting the fire, cooking food for the firefighters, building morale. We all own an equal share of the earth, while we are alive, and need to work as a team to preserve it.
Thank you again…all.
