Johnny Tahoe in da house! Recently, Heavenly invited several top magazine writers to South Lake Tahoe to experience 24 hours of the mountain lifestyle both on the hill and at the Casino Core. Our mission: show these writers how Heavenly Mountain Resort and South Lake Tahoe roll! Needless to say it was a smashing success! Associate editors and online writers from Maxim, Skiing, Future Snowboarding, Snowboarder, Men’s Health and L.A.’s Thrillist.com had their fill of Heavenly and South Lake Tahoe as they hit the mountain by day and dined, played poker and partied by night.

After having a killer time on the hill, we shuttled everyone back to MontBleu Casino Resort and Spa to prep for the evening. One of the places we hit up on the “H24″ was HQ Bar in MontBleu. This is one of the coolest bars you’re going to find in South Lake Tahoe. The bar is a video poker bar encircled by flat screen TV’s playing music videos or sports with bartenders serving from the center. At the center is an eye catching fire and ice like centerpiece that adds a hip element to the bar. Bartender Monica recommends you try the vanilla vodka red bull to jump-start your evening. HQ Bar is a perfect place to pre-party and strategize your moves at the Casino Core before you head out.

The next stop was Ciera Steak and Chop House in MontBleu. Maitre’D Tommy Walker heads this beautifully adorned, four-star restaurant. The classic, elegant atmosphere of Ciera will draw you in with its unique, upscale style that is all its own. You’ll discover sophisticated music that matches the fresh look and feel of Ciera’s wonderfully decorated interior. Bobby Austin, long time local and legendary mixologist mans the bar at Ciera. He suggests you pull up to the bar and partake of his favorite Bordeaux’s and some cashews. He’ll definitely entertain you with some of the local history of South Lake Tahoe. Ciera’s cuisine ranges from steak and chops to seafood, vegetarian and vegan fair. I recommend the crab cakes followed up with chops. They have an expansive list of over 300 wines to choose from so enjoy your time picking the right bottle. Finish off your experience at Ciera with some chocolate covered strawberries. You won’t be disappointed!

Next on the “H24″ was the MontBleu Poker Room. Located across from the sports book, the poker room has a cool vibe for what a player wants as well as a bar and a deli. They offer Texas Hold’Em, Stud, Omaha and draw games with different buy-in levels. They put on a tournament just for the editors, and Jeff Foss of Maxim Magazine pulled out a killer hand to take the pot at the end. A weekly tournament is hosted by MontBleu Poker Room. Another stop on the “H24″ was OPAL ULTRA LOUNGE where you can relax on cozy sofas and enjoy a nice cocktail while the DJ spins house. Bartender Stephanie will serve up her drink o’ the night and you’ll be flow‘in and well on your way to a spirited evening. Next stop was BLU NIGHTCLUB where DJ Frankie V spins out the mixes to keep you rollin’ through the night. The VIP booths are spacious, plush leather cabanas with gold beaded curtains and awesome bottle service. Check out the airbrush body painting near the back bar. The “H24” crew topped the night off at BLU and finished around 4am with one man left standing: Props go out to Steve Mazzucchi, freelance writer formerly of Maxim Magazine. Thanks to all the crew for making “H24″ such a huge success!
